Alright... after a long and stressful process I've found that using heat DEFINITELY helps when removing the tape. The potential smearing that could occur could be removed with googone and some elbow grease. So I would say 80-90% should be rubbed off and the remainder with googone and a mf. Also I HIGHLY recommend using a plastic razor blade to get some of the stubborn glue (https://scraperite.com/).

That is all... my thumbs are killing me with a fat blister on eat thumb.

EDIT:
One more thing, roll the tape to its side if that makes sense. Rub towards the center of the car because if you do it the other way you're fighting more tape.
