I currently drive an M235i with x-drive, automatic tranny.
I am expecting the 6MT M2 to feel much faster. Here's my math:
M2 6MT vs. M235xi auto = about 160-180 lbs lighter
M2 vs. M235xi auto = 330 ft-lbs vs. 369 ft-lbs for a material portion of the torque curve
M2 6MT vs. M235xi = about 5% more efficient due to less drivetrain loss
So, I figure ~5% lighter, about 12% more torque, and about 5% baseline increase in torque at wheels.
F = ma, so a=F/m = (1.12)*(1.05)/(0.95) = about 1.24.
So, I expect my 6 MT M2 to feel about 24% quicker for large portions of the RPM range relative to my current M235xi auto.
Simple physics...neglecting rolling resistance and wind resistance....
