So the other day I pulled out of a parking spot without knowing there was a curb to my right and lightly, I repeat LIGHTLY, scraped it with my back wheel. I got out to look and saw this.
WTH!? I've never seen anything like it before. The surface of the rim just chipped and crumbled off like paper mache. Rims on previous cars have survived hits and scrapes much worse than this over their lifetime with nothing more than a couple light scratches. Unfortunately these rims, which are near impossible to keep clean because of the "water reservoir", also stick way out farther than the surface of the tire.
This 2er is my first BMW. Is this typical of BMW rims? What can I do? Has this happened to anyone else with their 2?
