It doesn't affect the ambient light.
I never measure it, but it is as thin as it's possibly made.
I believe it is less than 1mm thick.

My local customers who seen it always thought it was a complete replacement pieces. But after explanation and showing the details, they were also shocked that it is a stick-on.
