Well the F8x is quite a bit more expensive and some of us have no interest in that package.

The E9x M3 on the other hand has a few downsides when compared to the M2 but it is $10-15k less expensive for a nice specimen. So to me when you start comparing the M2 to old M3 it really becomes a net tie in the end and you have to decide which one is right for you. I really want to get back into an E9x M3 because dammit that engine is some serious level of special. However, I know I'll miss the torque and I do have concerns about having a $20k engine grenade on me (ie: rod bearings). So is the M2 worth $10-15k more? That depends on the individual.

The M2 will depreciate eventually and IMO will be just like all other M cars once the LCI and CS come out.
