However, a poor copy could result in constant re-reads and hunting for data. That might make the reader (stepper motor, etc.) work much harder, and that could leading to premature failure. Since some folks may have burned disks, it would be good to know if that's a penny wise pound foolish approach. |
I trust what the guy SNA77 says in the this thread. He knows a ton about the oem nav systems and the mkiv drive. He wrote up a huge article in BMW Roundel about the intravee integration and I know he has installed nav systems into multiple e46s. Furthermore if you search other forums xoutpost some people have also had issues with burnt discs.
