I trust what the guy SNA77 says in the this thread. He knows a ton about the oem nav systems and the mkiv drive. He wrote up a huge article in BMW Roundel about the intravee integration and I know he has installed nav systems into multiple e46s. Furthermore if you search other forums xoutpost some people have also had issues with burnt discs.
