depends on how much i drive. I have no doubt the oil will last a year if the miles are low. But i generally dont let it go over 6k without a change. unless i have a factory change around the corner then i'll try and schedule it a little early. i also put 0w-40 in when i change especially during the summer months. i prefer a thicker oil in the warmer months especially how hot our engines get.
on my X5 i change every 5k or 6 months since thats the main vehicle for the family.
