Thanks for the write up, I do all my own maintenance and also plan to handle my own oil changes for the BMW.
Typically change my oil every 4k miles for the daily drivers. I change oil after every track day also on the track cars.
(I have a lift, so that makes the job a little easier / enjoyable.)
