I just traded my 2020 M5 for a Porsche Cayenne GTS.
Having come from 6 prior Porsches, including two 911s, one of which I tracked, all with DCT, I can understand the OPs complaint.
That said, it was my 3rd BMW and I always felt the tranny was a model of perfection. Is it as fast, immediate, and as intuitive as a good DCT? Absolutely not.
My complaint, sorry for OT, was the very vague, silly putty steering.
If you think the steering is accurate, provides any road feel, do yourself a favor and drive a Porsche. It’s literally night and day.
I don’t often agree with reviewers about cars I’ve owned, as they usually only have them a short time. But Savage Geese nailed the M5 steering when he said it basically sucked.
