Yes, it can be covered under my collision, but it's a $1000 deductible and my premiums would go up about $400 for 3 years, plus it would go on Carfax and diminish the car value. Plus if I had another claim in the next year, the premiums would go up significantly. So it was a better idea to pay it myself.
