Vic, I test drove an X6//M in 2011. I was hooked on that because of: tranny. It amazed me every single time I pressed and let go of the gas pedal. The transmission was like a butler waiting on your command: yes sir. No problem sir.
When I got my E90 M3, the DCT was impressive because it was after all a DCT. But, in the back of my mind the X6//M felt so much more aggressive climbing through the gears and speed. Never had that feeling of an automatic transmission performing so incredibly well under extreme condition.
I have yet to drive an F90 M5. I am afraid if I do I might trade my F15 X5.
