I just bought an M3 (coming in October) and considering purchasing snow tires.

I am currently looking at 245/40R18 97R Nokian Hakka R2s.

Two questions:

Is this an optimal size for an M3 car? I want thinner rather than thicker tires. Also, what wheel would anyone recomment?

And finally, how are these in snow? Anyone have direct experience?
No direct experience with the Hakka's, but FWIW, I've been running 255/40R18 Bridgestone Blizzak LM-32's and have been very happy with them. Tough to say what's "optimal," but if it matters, I think BMW's recommended winter wheel/tire package is a 255 setup.
