Routine Fluid changes is the cheapest insurance possible for a car you plan on keeping.
Can't speak for the auto, but fluid change for the manual and diff took less than an hour for my first time doing it. I paid The dealership for the coolant flush because apparently now it takes the service computer to run the coolant pump, etc.
