If you read the ring time run on Road and Track you find out that Tesla was running their TRIPLE - not yet in production electric motor system (one for each rear wheel and one for the fronts), the car tested was gutted to the metal to save massive weight, and the car had different rubber compound/and width to the stock setup. I would say weight reduction alone is good for 20 seconds - forget the same prototype engine that was in the "8 second" Roadster.
Porsche did tremendously well considering.
