I never bothered to coast, just jumped on the highway when traffic would be light enough to keep a steady pace. Just idle in neutral, or keep the clutch depressed for a few minutes if you're bored.
As others said, make sure auto clear is off. The whole process is easy, the Dp Fix made it a nightmare.
