I didn't see that post, but I guess I could see that happening. The thing is, Audi just doesn't have the status that BMW does in the US for some reason, and thus, the posers almost always choose BMW. I heard a good quote on the 5th Gear TV show once: "the clever money goes to Audi". It's not always true, but it can be.

I love Audis (I'm partial because of my boyfriend) but I was unimpressed with the A4 I test drove, and I couldn't get the 3.2 because it doesn't come in a manual. I loved the A3 but my knee hit the steering column when i was driving it. Then I drove the BMW and I was sold. The feeling of driving it is unmatched IMO, but I haven't driven too many cars.
