If your head unit is original and you did not already modify the original coding (such as to enable CarPlay if you did not have it originally), you can do this yourself using BimmerCode. This is how:
In the head unit ECU, go to:
HU_NBT2 - 3005 Display PIP Info - DIM_VARIANT
Value will be set to NEW. Change the value to OLD. That's it!
If, however, BimmerCode will not allow you to access your head unit, you should ask
kubax86 to do it remotely for you. Took 5 minutes.
