We absolutely adore our E92 M3, with it still putting a smile on our face every time we drive it. However the tech is still very much 15+ years old, and being used to more modern cars such as the G series BMWs mean we get used to certain creature comforts!
To fix this we add a Mr12Volt MMI box that utilises the existing iDrive screen and controller but adds a ton of features including full wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
In addition to this we add the Induktiv wireless charger, this is an OEM+ piece which can fast charge your phone without overheating like many other systems suffer with.
This combo means its seamless to have your phone connected, for music/podcasts, calls and navigation all whilst charging your phone without having to plug in.
Overall the Induktiv has been great for 3-4 hour journeys easily charging the phone without melting it and using wireless CarPlay/Android Auto.
The Mr12Volt MMI box is 90% there, it has the odd bug or problem meaning it needs to be reset, but I would take that over not having anything at all every single time.
