Ahhh, this thread was a fun read. I took so many folks through this realization on the Audizine forums when other reputable members on the forums decided to start their own companies and offer products for half the price of the big name local R&D companies, always with their own process, "that's unique and local and never done the way we do it...cause we love cars, blah blah"...which there is nothing *wrong* with if you're honest about the source, but that half price is still generally a ~100-150% markup of the Chinese Alibaba product they're tack welding their logo onto that you could just buy directly. You're not getting anything except the logo and some fluff from whomever sells it to you, and you're giving them a huge markup.

This stuff has been around in modern form (via Alibaba and other Chinese suppliers) for a couple of decades now, and it's just a quick pyramid scheme for fly by night "tuning shops" to sell in bulk and make their money and move on. If you want to run that crap on your car, more power to you, just save yourself 100-150% by buying the original part directly from the Chinese distributor. Companies claiming (and defending?!) inventions from resold Chinese crap with their name printed on it have no scruples, and deserve every bit of negativity that comes their way.
