At that time I didn't regret it at all and began and many years of M ownership. I do wish I had an E39 M5 now though just to drive occasionally.
Of all the BMW's I had the car I regret not keeping is the two different Z8's I had. Owned a 2001 and a 2002 Z8

A few months ago I got to spend time and drive a pristine Z8 (which actually just sold on BaT for $186k) and it is just ever so beautiful and enjoyable to drive, I can definitely see how you miss them.
