Sorry to hear about your situation OP. There is not anything magical and critical about the 1200m break in from what the info states - it is important yes but going 1k over should not cause everything to fail - the oil viscosity difference for the differentials might mean that they may have worn in a bit more than desired but major component failure or problems this soon - highly unlikely. The max rpm / speed is more critical I’m sure for proper part seating and wear in. Again what others that if it is hyper critical then limp mode / notification are a must then - BMW needs to code this in ASAP or is this a tool of a dealer? That said, I’m OCD and mine was in a bit early at approximately 1000 miles since I was going on a 800+ mile trip.
