He did this on my 2 RS7's and 5 of my previous AMG's (all Turbos). He said the resonator on the Sport Exhaust is just a sound byproduct. He can do the X pipe as well but straight is easier.

I think you can do the straight mine just was not done properly which I guess caused droning and power loss.
