I am correct to assume that catless downpipes make the vehicle fail any future emission tests if left on? I would have thought the enviro regulatory types would have picked up on the catless DP mods when the car was inspected on import back to the US after you were done with the ED? I guess they don't look the cars over too closely or are the secondary cats adequate to meet emissions regulations. (too quote another member on the forum.. "these things eat trees and bunnies")[/QUOTE]

There are so many vehicles moving through the Brunswick Port, that CBP is probably only looking for contraband within ED vehicles if selected for secondary screening. The FDA does dosen't check for emissions either. The EPA is looking out for the diesel vehicles. Also, I had the CEL removed during the ECU tune so it won't trigger during US import, VDC, PCD or the center during service.

I can still smell the emissions, as my PC delivery specialist was informed of the catless DP's when I returned 4 wks latter to pick-up the F85 and he noticed the emissions/exhaust sound in the enclosed PC bay during the F83 delivery. South Carolina doesn't have annual emission testing.
