This Mueller investigation continues to be an epic legal tour de force of how justice works ...
(1.) Originally Gates was charged with 12 counts including conspiracy against the US, conspiracy to launder money, being an unregistered agent of a foreign principal, making false and misleading statements, and failing to file reports of foreign bank and financial accounts.
(2.) Then Mueller upped the ante to 24 counts including tax fraud, bank fraud, bank-fraud conspiracy, and failure to file reports of foreign bank and financial accounts.
(3.) Then Mueller upped the ante again to 32 counts.
Gates, finally realizing that corrupt sinners can run along for a long time, but sooner or later God's gonna cut 'em down, did the right thing and plea bargained out.
This is quite a big deal.
Because what it means is that a guy who was around all through the Trump campaign and well into the transition is now fully cooperating ... and for a guy who was indicted and charged 32 times by a jury of his peers but is being given a slight pass ... well it means he must have something big.
