As much as I respect the new Corvette's performance, I don't see myself driving one. I admit, for value's sake, the new C7 is hard to top, but its styling is still growing on me. The 435i is great, but its performance is no where near the Vettes. I would never cross shop between the two, but I think I'd go for a base Cayman S (ignore Porsche's ridiculous options list) or pony up for an M3/M4.
