Acutally the turbo S is heavier and has slightly less power. Price has nothing to do with speed, but the quality you get in the Panamera is light years ahead of anything BMW or Merc (or any car really) can do and while its very expensive, it feels every bit as good as what you pay.
The track times show you just how great it handles, and Porsches AWD in dry conditions puts 100% power to the rears.
