This will piss everyone off (including me). I just saw an F90 M5 on the road in LA. Alpine white.

What's worse is that it had plates which means this guys had it for at least a few weeks. Didn't catch the plate number, but it was definitely an F90 M5.

Media Pool/PCWest/Corp if NJ plates, or EETC Fleet on CA Distributor Plate.

Like someone else said, this is a special exception. Not a customer delivery. When real deliveries occur we'll see threads on here.

Not really but thats what they offered and then my dealer called to offer it for me as well. Luckily I do not need a rental as I have other cars so I did not pursue it.
So I just spoke to BMW NA and unfortunately, they can not help with loaners as each dealership manages the loaners privately. They asked me to reach out my dealerships GM regarding the situation to see if they can help. It's going to be on their discretion.

Now, you mentioned your dealership in Charlottesville offered you the loaner? Would it be credible to cite this to my dealer?

The only thing I did get out of the discussion is that confirmed official release of M5 is first week of April (with subject to change as she also indicated-whatever that means)

No luck on loaner from my dealer it seems.

Response from my rep:

"I spoke with a general manager and we're not set up for a loaner for the situation. We only have loners for our service department. Some dealerships have vehicles designated as demos but we do not have these cars."

Yeah you can mention to them that they offered.
Just seems pretty messed up that your dealer won’t step up and offer a loaner without you having to jump through hoops. It’s not very good customer service when buying a $120k car and your car is stuck at the port for no reason.
When I was waiting for my E63s some guys were getting loaners for 4 to 5 months because the cars were stuck at the port waiting for the EPA. A month of the loaner doesn’t really cost them much to make you happy.

Yes they were. My 2018 E63s was held at the VPC from early July to October. I hope this doesnt happen to the M5.

Nice, I got pics from my friend who just went to training there. She loved it in person.

Also there's a stop sale on the 5 series in general due to a bulletin "REPLACE THE TEMPERATURE SENSOR FOR THE TANK LEAK DIAGNOSIS MODULE". I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the F90 as it's a new chassis etc but in general there's a lot of things they're trying to fix for the 5 series in general

If I remember correctly, this very same situation happened two years ago with the M2. I think was due to both EPA and release date restrictions.

So do any of the soon to be owners also have or have had an F8x car?

Looking for feedback on the differences while driving in comfort mode. Once you guys get acclimated with your your new babies.

My next car will be luxury first, power second.

Just don't know which direction I'm going to go.

Thanks in advance.

My new panamera sat on a port for 4 months until I cancelled the order... it was brutal

I feel the pain - I've waited for 5 months for both of the BMWs I ordered... in a span of a year and a half for various reasons

Stay strong, it's worth the wait getting exactly what you want in the end.

Was a 17 Turbo. I moved on from it because I needed a car.

Ah I see. I've read on Rennlist that people had their 4 E-Hybrids sitting at port for half a year because of EPA/CARB approval delays. In fact, the cars are still waiting for CARB approval I think.
