2018 donnington Gray M5 Loaded 20k miles
Just got the car two weeks ago in So Cal. Fully loaded w m performance exhaust, carbon fiber, full leather, m drivers, Bowers sound and way more. I put 3,200 down and the payoff is 92. Sticker was 118 before m exhaust and carbon fiber.
Just putting feelers out there as the car is too much car for me. Came from An e class mercedes and previously a bmw 550 |

You posted in another thread that you paid for an M5 competition and got swindled or something of that nature. Is it actually too much car for you or are you trying to recoup your losses? If so, this is probably the wrong place to do it since you paid comp money for a non comp.
If that’s not the case, what do you mean it’s too much car for you? Don’t hit the red M buttons and drive it in the most comfortable and least sporty settings. |

To OP,
Did you go to the dealer who sold you this M5 and ask for your money back? They lied to you and you have just cause for them to reverse the sale.

No i am debating wether or not i should do that or not. at 83 plus tax license and fees--- its not a horrible deal (non comp or comp). One dealer is telling me that the car has $32,000 in Uplift in it-- whatever that means. He said he found that out via a disclosure with his service manager. The sticker does not have the M Performance exhaust, carbon fiber, black grills, spoiler etc. But the car HAS all of those things. He said it was a pre production car?
Again the car sounds amazing, VERY Loud, drives fine, but i dont know if returning it would be smooth and easy --- while on one hand, the salesman told me it was a comp, and posted on his IG that it was a comp -- all of the paperwork says M5 AWD |

Smooth and easy probably not since they’ll try to push you around, but at the end of the day if you’re persistent you’d come out on top of this.
I can’t give you any advice, it’s still a great car, and you can enjoy the hell out of it. I’m jealous about the exhaust, mine is as quiet as a church mouse in my opinion. Or you can go to the dealer and be persistent until they make things right and put you in a car you want, maybe an E53 AMG, not 63 if the M5 is a lot for you, would be a good fit? Either way, best of luck, and you still have a beautiful car. Keep us updated. |

It can't be CPO'd as an M5 Competition because the car is not that.

My guess is the previous owner modded it. Maybe it rides rough because the springs were changed. The description and cost of the extra work is too vague to know what was actually done. I would want to know. The exhaust is easy enough to sell or swap for a stock one if you want quieter. It does not add any power. I would want to know whether the car has downpipes or a tune.

Does anyone have a connection to find out the details of this?? Says "UPFIT W OUT REPAIR". again car looks and run amazing, clean carfax, so my guess is this was a pre production car and BMW or whoever tried to make it exactly like a Comp? $32k worth, see attached. i will call Original dealer later.

No idea, it gets more and more strange. Probably exactly what above posters said, but I’d definitely call the original dealer, curios if they can offer any insight.

“To meet US specs” is interesting as is the “pre production” part. Maybe it was imported. I thought Euro models met US standards these days, so it must be from somewhere else. As long as the OP likes it and it looks and runs fine, it probably is fine. It may have been gone through and sorted out and improved with factory parts so is better than most examples. Maybe.
