LCi taillight Lighting Question

So the LCi taillights have the taillight light, the small clear rectangle that is the backup light,

and then a thin light strip that runs the length of the tail light at the bottom of the tail light which I thought would be the turn signal that would light up orange, but when I turn my turn signals on, that strip lights up red and blinks red along with the entire taillight as well

is that normal? normal for US spec?

I found a picture on google of the strip at bottom being orange and it's a license plate definitely from Europe/not USA

The light that is orange in the pic at the bottom of light is red on my car

Europe requires the rear turn signals to be amber in color and separate from the taillight, whereas the US allows for the rear turn signal to be the same element as the taillight, so that's how most US vehicles are still manufactured. You have the US version of the taillights.

Normal for US spec. FMVSS has illuminated surface area requirements that the RoW type can't meet.

what is FMVSS? and RoW?
Federal

The rules and regulations for US market vehicles.

The dedicated independent turn signal area (amber on RoW cars) is not large enough to meet FMVSS requirements so it's supplemented by adding function override of the brake light on the applicable side. Since it's against the rules to have more than one color for the turn signal at the same time, US cars utilize red instead of amber LED.

I can't link in the app but it's the DIY thread that's literally below this one on my page. As well as some other ones.
