New ad spot shows F90 M5 agility with its M xDrive AWD system

I work in advertising and think BMW can do better. Its a 100+ thousand dollar car not a civic. Get my blood pumping. Give me emotion. Give me adrenaline. Make me want this damn car. Show me performance not some damn circles in a warehouse. Show me what x drive can do.

Show some emotion. Some action. Some thrill. Show me this car perform in snow. Show me this car do a burnout in slow motion show me a reason why I should give you my money.

Here is a perfect example.

Emotional music, heart stopping action. Watch that m6 rear suspension jump and land solidly. Watch how the wolf howls at the perfect siren pitch. Watch in slow motion how the wheels carve the snow.

Another perfect example is this by mb.

This commercial makes me want to get up and work 3 times harder to get something we all thought was unnatainable. It makes me want to raise my children to push through life and be succesful.

The music score, the emotion. The color grading with the oranges+teal. The powerful buildup. The goal of making love to a beautiful woman. All this is success that culminates with a mb. If you buy a mb, you have made it.

Sorry for ranting. Im a proud owner two m5s but bmw marketing and advertising needs a kick in the ass.

Bmw, Make me want to buy the new m5.

I remember watching an episode of Top gear where they showed clips of edited parts of the show. The final show showed then doing slaloms and dough nuts with ease. They showed the edited clips and they looked like amateurs too.

My point again, this is an Ad.

I laugh at these promos. If these cars were actually driven in this manner by customers, we wouldn't have a 4,000+ pound all wheel drive automatic M5...

Sorry but I think you got caught up in your own line of work’s coolaid, or whatever passes for it. Probably cucumber water in the advertising business, what do I know.

That’s a terrible commercial, drawn out and meaningless. You mean you’ve arrived when you make love to a beautiful woman and drive a C class convertible??

That’s setting yourself up for low expectations...

Not to mention that I seriously doubt anybody will jump from the couch and go buy a $100k car after seeing a commercial. That’d be lame.

But I am absolutely thrilled to see that M xDrive it's finally here!!!!!!

This may actually now one day purchase an M4 as long as it has M xDrive

Apparently the next generation of Active Sound also includes gear shift/clutch sounds when using an automatic.
