Ooofff. I had one just like that, and then followed that crack up with no less than two more replacement screens within the year. Our nobbly motorways and gravel-strewn A roads make this almost an inevitability. Thank goodness for Autoglass! They don't use OEM screens but the quality is on par, and the HUD is clear. And I can't justify the outlay of paying for OEM glass myself when the next lorry I pass on the commute could flick something up.
Commiserations, anyway!

Installing Supersprint turbo manifolds, Jet Hot 2500 coated. I put this mod pretty far down the priority list, but I have already picked most of the low hanging fruit and was bored.
Took about a day. No rocket science. Just patience and care. The stock heat shield that runs from under the alternator to under the turbo compressor sections has to be cut. The heat shield won’t clear the larger runner Supersprint manifolds. The heat shield insulates the compressor sections of the turbo, including the wastegate creator for the left turbo (bank 2), and the turbo oil drains from the manifold heat. It extends from the alternator only to the first runners of the manifolds — the pipes to exhaust ports 1 and 5. It does not extend past that. Ideally you would wrap the bank 2 turbo wastegate actuator and turbo drains in insulated sleeves or wraps, but I did not. I had the manifolds coated with Jet Hot 2500 so they should heat up the area a lot less than the stock manifolds. Picture is before sending out for coating. I think I read you posting about your screen replacement, when I did a search. So I'm using Autoglass through my insurance but I managed to get my insurer to pay for a genuine BMW screen. Autoglass stated I'd need to pay £1,943 for a genuine screen fitted by them. Or just the £50 excess for their supplied screen. I told my insurers I wanted the BMW screen as I'm paying to insure a BMW. They agreed in the end. Only issue is its about 3 weeks to get the BMW screen, according to Autoglass and I'm booked in on the 20th. Hopefully Autoglass do a good job fitting it, and I'm happy you hear your job went well.
