How's the sound compared to a normal NA spec F90? Feels like all youtube reviews are EU spec OPF garbage. CS still has pops and bangs?

I remember reading that, wonder if they actually followed through with anything different with the bottom of the airbox....

Are there charcoal filters on the US market CS's? Maybe they got a special exemption to not have them on this limited run car.

Awesome looking car btw, enjoy it!

To GNAL,

Please write a detailed review of the M5 CS after you put a few hundred mikes on her. For some reason, the other few owners of the M5 CS on this board have been very silent on how they like driving their cars. Thanks!

Guessing that the other owners are too busy enjoying their car to write a review of it. lol

I'll try and remember to post some feedback after I get some decent miles on the car. It is currently in for tint and PPF.

Wait until after break-in service, i would expect the ECU is limiting some of the power during that period.

That is an unfortunate urban myth that has been circulating the forums for decades now. There is no change in power after the run in service.

I took my previous M3CS over the 5,500 rpm soft limit several times before 1,200 miles. I don't make a practice of doing it, but I can confirm that there was no change in power. I also have an email directly from a BMW Technical Engineer with BMWNA that states the same thing.

I've heard the same thing, i just know for the M2 CS i currently have, it felt like a different car in all engine settings after i picked it up from break-in service. I've owned enough performance cars in my lifetime from new to know that it felt like night and day after the 1,200 mile service. Was not the case for me with other M cars I owned (like regular M2 or prior M3)

My passenger in the car said the same thing after riding in it post break-in, it felt like the car had previously been boost limited. Other M2 CS owners have said similar things. Means nothing for the M5 CS obviously, but just a thought.

Most likely a placebo effect by finally being able to go over 5,500rpm.

Looks awesome, congrats! You had an M3CS right? Curious how it compares to your M5CS. I currently have an M3CS and lease will be up in a few months and I'm not sure what to get yet. A local dealer has an M5CS available by me

Yes, I had an M3CS and loved it.

My car is still in for PPF, but I'll try and write up some comparisons when I get to spend some time behind the wheel.

Looks amazing. Congrats and enjoy! Never saw Brands Hatch in person but have same car on order. Struggled between it and green but like you not a fan of matte paint. In the video above it reminds me a little of a metallic version of Porsche's Slate Grey.

Congrats!! How does the std audio sound? I realize totally subjective but I wonder if a total fail or acceptable in general. Alternatively, a better sound from the exhaust could make that a mute point……. Alas, not the case

I'm not an audiophile so I've never upgraded a sound system above Harmon Kardon. To me it sounds just fine.

I spent more time in my CS last night and then drove my 2019 non-comp M5 this morning.

The CS is definitely quieter. I must assume that North American cars also received GPFs or some kind of dummy device that mutes the exhaust note.

So M Performance exhaust or Akra exhaust for CS?
I usually only consider Akra on Porsche and not familiar with M Performance. Who makes it?

Does your '19 have the burbles and backfires? I was kinda disappointed that the M5CS doesn't have those like my M3CS did.
