Pay MSRP for nothing.
If you're a collector with lots of capital and plan to just keep it parked for a long time with occasional miles, I could change my answer.

It could be worth it on the CS's version if the trend continues and they keep the volume low.
I think in time, these will go up in value as the days of the V8 without going hybrid of some sort may come to an end. Would I pay over MSRP if you can find one at or just slightly below...no |

i say no. im in same boat as you... socal dealership here wants 30K over MSRP. i told them no. i think SOME of these cars will sit. The issue is when one person buys a car at over MSRP the dealerships all catch eye of that. they all talk... |

I personally will never pay over MSRP for a vehicle, I am not sending the owner / general sales manager on a vacation with paying over MSRP. With that being said, if you really love the M5CS then you have to ask yourself is it worth it to pay 10k over MSRP. I just made the last payment on my 18 M5 and I am waiting for the title to arrive from BMW financial. I considered purchasing the M5CS but the color options does not appeal to me and the lack of the B&W stereo system and the seats are a no go for me and the wife. Two cars I am considering are the upcoming C8 Z06 (already on a list at MSRP) and the 911 GTS. Me and the wife of 34 years (soon to be 35 years this October) have no kids and the need for back seats is not an issue and we have other vehicles to drive. Before buying my 18 M5, I was at a Porsche dealership and almost paid 20k over MSRP for a 911 GT3. I got caught up in the moment and the wife always said we would leave the dealership and talk/discuss the transaction before making the decision to buy. Well the 911 GT3 never made its way to the stable /garage. Cars like the M5CS and 911GT3 and various other performance vehicles are wants and not needs. Buy what appeals to you. I will leave you with this, while the M5CS seems to be the fastest M5 produced, how fast can one drive on the streets legally. Buy what calls out to you and enjoy. When I purchased my 18 M5 in August of 2018 from BMW of Encinitas in San Diego County the dealership had 4 M3CS's on the lot. Marked on the windshield for a 18 M3 CS frozen blue, executive package, and carbon ceramic brakes with a MSRP of close to 115k they had it marked at 85k. Per the dealership they where having a hard time moving the M3CS's during that time frame. They are a M performance store for the area.

Interesting, I never really understand why people elect to pay over MSRP and 75K over has me shaking my head. If you want the exclusivity of owning a M5CS I get it. However if speed is what you are after, then buy a Tesla Plaid. Even the M5CS can not compare to the Plaid S in out right acceleration. I say this because, why does one buy the M5CS over the base M5. I have to think it is because the acceleration performance over the standard M5 and handling.
