Wonder what the M5 will be capable of with a light tune as well, since grip isn't such a issue anymore. I feel head-to-head reviews will praise the E63S steering feel over the M5. Chris Harris was pretty shocked when he drove it, and most reviews from the M5 mentioned poor feedback. No "should've been M5 CP" whining please. |

Stop whining, it lost a comparison (the second one I think).

Impressive, the horsepower and 0-60 war continues while 99% of M5 owners will never use its full potential. I sold my F10 M5 for a 991.2 carrera s as I prefer driving dynamics and handling over brute power. Two totally different cars I know but the M5 is an engineer’s challenge to defy the laws of physics. I may go back to one or equivalent when the need for extra practicality is there.

Weight and engine placement. The demon I’m not sure it’s faster, perhaps larger and wider tires. Mid or rear engine cars has its weight over the drive wheels while the M5 is front engine and need the added traction.

It also has 335mm semi slicks at the back. Same story for the 812 and the Viper, the rear tyres are super wide and super sticky. Can't put that on a sedan not only because they don't fit unless you put massively wide rear arches, but also because the usability takes a big hit. BMW M executives said that they thought about that but AWD was the better solution for the customers.

2. McLaren and Ferrari are on a whole different planet when it comes to launch control. 3. The Demon tests I have seen have all been with the "track" setup. On the "everyday" tires, it will not be nearly as fast. This was nice, but I will wait for a side by side drag race. CarandDriver already properly tested the E63s with a 0-60 of 3.0s and the 1/4 in 11.1@126.

Soooooo am I the only one that thinks being one tenth of a second faster in the quarter and the 0-60 means absolutely nothing?
They might as well stop with the all these strait line comparisons. In the real world there is no difference that can be felt. It will be styling, feel and character that differentiate these two cars. And those are completely subjective. They are both beautiful cars that do exactly what they are supposed too. Congrats to BMW though, their d!ck is officially one tenth longer!? |
