When I got my new 2018 F80 I did not PPF it. Somehow it survived 1500 miles of ED driving in Europe and came up in very good shape. The moment I started driving it in the US, and particularly in the highway in the US (Boston area), I started to notice it. I PPF ed it as soon as I saw this to stop the damage since I thought I'd keep the car forever.
But I learned my lesson. Since then, I have PPF'd (at least full front) every new car I care about. Luckily, my new-to-me F90 came with full PPF from the prior owner, but I would have at least done full front on whatever F90 I would have bought. It sucks to have to spend the money, but it is the only way to be "free."
